Burnley, Lancashire was once the world’s largest producer of cotton cloth. The decline of the UK textile industry has had a colossal impact on northern towns like Burnley, which is now the 21st most deprived Local Authority area in the UK. But that isn’t stopping a green-fingered group of volunteers dig deep and help turn a patch of grass into a bountiful community garden.

At the Ideal Home Show back in March, The Prince’s Foundation unveiled “The Prince’s House”. The house is a re-creation of a ground-breaking new home design, the prototype of which is at BRE Innovation Park, Watford. Kirstie Allsopp visited the house to check out its eco-credentials
