Nottingham was the first stop on the Start Royal tour today, where The Prince of Wales met residents from the Meadows, an inner-city residential area of Nottingham of around 3,800 homes.
The community joined forces in 2007 to form the Meadows Ozone Energy Services (MOZES) company to provide sustainable energy for local residents. The aim of the business is to enable people initially in the Meadows, and subsequently in other areas, to access affordable energy. The ambition is to enable the Meadows to become self-sufficient in its energy use, and then to become an energy generating community, which will in turn reduce the community’s carbon footprint.
During his visit, The Prince enjoyed a cup of tea with a resident who has had solar panels fitted to her property by MOZES. He also visited the Arkwright Meadows Community Garden, which has been regenerated into a cherished community facility from wasteland. Here he met community groups in a disused church to discuss the future of the building.
Then it was onto Birmingham and the Working for a Smarter Future Exhibition at the Thinktank Science Museum, at Millennium Point. The Prince toured part of the museum and joined in a lesson for local school children about transport past and present.

He also watched a fashion show featuring clothes made from recycled material, gave a speech to business leaders and accompanied a group of children on the first ever Start trail in the museum.
The Start trail guides young people around the various exhibits in the museum which relate to sustainable living and includes a recycling machine and arguably the world’s first hybrid car, the Lanchester Petrol-Electric Mark 7 Prototype Car, built in 1926.
Finally, he met TV presenter Gaby Roslin, Mulberry founder Roger Saul and TV presenter Kevin McCloud – before they raced the royal train back to London in eco cars.

Great to see you in Birmingham @ the Think Tank.
A Tremendous or Treemendus start to evolving the mindset of the masses in the importance of tree cover on earth, linking the symbiotic relationship’s of various climatic components, it is a complex and expanding subject, by simplifying what to do next, making positive actions fun and inspiring, leaves people with a long lasting feel good memory.
Dear reader ~ One to try here @ home : Plant a Fruit or Nut Tree, if you have not the room, do so in a pot, you can donate the young tree to local land owners such as farmers / N.Trust or Council’s & so on , once nurtured through it’s first year’s, or donate them to our project ~:amilliontrees@hotmail.com.
You will have created a food source for us or the creatures and animals, added to the local air quality and absorbed a little Carbon and much more.
Warm Regards

HRH Prince Charles gives us all hope for the future; sustainable energy and saving the environment is the most important issue of our time. In my humble opinion we may be a little slow moving towards practical actions regarding this. Prince Charles helps give us some motivation.

When a country leader takes a strong stand in favor of the environment, he acts as such a fine example to the rest of the world. Kudos, your Highness.
